When I first opened the package, pulled out the Bionic Motorcycle Gloves and tried them on, I was impressed with how soft they were. Undoubtedly they were the softest riding gloves I have ever worn.

Palm view of the Bionic Motorcycle GlovesDesigned by a leading orthopedic hand specialist, the Bionic Gloves are designed to provide comfort, fit, performance, durability and protection. They will not provide you with superior strength of the Six Million Dollar Man, but will make your hands more comfortable while holding the handlebar.

The gloves are made from supple sheepskin leather and use a product called Tough-Ex on the palm and fingertips that provide extra grip and added durability for longer life in wear zones. The extra ‘stickiness’ of the Tough-Ex means you don’t have to hold onto the grip as tight and also provides some extra padding in those areas. A loose grip means less hand fatigue over time. The areas between the fingers are ventilated to keep your hands cool and allow the gloves to breathe Bionic Motorcycle Gloves have extra heavy padding over the knuckles, adding a thick layer of protection from abrasion, but the padding doesn’t inhibit flexibility and dexterity.

The leather is thin, very comfortable and flexible, but I have my doubts if the thin, supple leather would stay intact if you experienced a fall and your hands hit the pavement first.

The gloves are long enough to go inside your coat sleeves and the neoprene wrist closure supports the wrist while reflective material on the gloves helps make riders more visible.

Overall, I was impressed with the Bionic Gloves and found them a great glove for nice weather riding.

While the gloves are easily the most comfortable I have ever tried, they are a little on the pricey side as they retail for $69.95 USD. There are distributors of other Bionic Gloves in Canada, but at press time, the motorcycle gloves were only available at www.bionicgloves.com.

Bionic also makes award-winning gloves for strength and fitness training, golf, tennis, racquetball, gardening, equestrian sports, driving and cold weather dress.
