Indian Motorcycle announces the arrival for the FTR Rally
Indian Motorcycle has announced that the FTR 1200 Rally will be available in North America for 2020. Indian Motorcycles built upon FTR 1200, with scrambler stylings and enhanced performance capabilities to create the FTR Rally.
The Urban Scrambler styled bike still holds the DNA of the FTR 1200 but with Aluminum wire wheels with stainless steel spokes, brown aviator seat and a new rally windscreen. They’ve paired the new model with Pirelli Scorpian Rally STR Tires.
“We’re excited to offer North American riders a new take on the FTR 1200 that combines the unmistakeable look and stance of the FTR with the more classic, rugged elements that have made scramblers so beloved to city riders,” said Reid Wilson, Vice President of Indian Motorcycle. “The FTR 1200 is as much about style and self-expression as it is about street-oriented performance, and the FTR Rally delivers that combination in a totally unique way.”
With responsive handling and a upright ergonomic position the FTR Rally is said to handle urban environments and backroad adventures with ease and confidence. The model is equipped with cruise control, USB charging port, ProTaper handlebars and LED headlights and turn signals. The 1203cc V-twin engine offers a smooth power delivery with loads of low-end punch; producing 123 horsepower and 87 ft-lbs of torque. The model also features a power-assist slipper clutch which helps to reduce rear rear slip during deceleration and creates an incredibly light clutch-lever pull. Along with an inverted fork and Brembo dual front brakes and ABS standard on the model. Along with the release of this model there will also be a range of 40+ accessories to purchase specifically for the FTR series.
The dry weight of the FTR Rally sits at 231 Kgs, offers a ground clearance of 182 mm and will be priced at $16,499 for Canadians. We’re excited to see this bike released in North America, the overall silhouette of the FTR 1200 is incredibly desirable for many; with the release of a more capable scrambler style model it is sure to turn heads in urban environments and off the beaten path. We can expect to see the model in dealerships in spring of 2020.
